September 14 Could this be the best article on the microsoft web site?Wow! What a great resource! here is an article that will "map" the maturity level (Gartner-style) of your IT infrastructure to technical solutions.
In other words: "Dear customer, you are here, let's go there together, we will show you how to build a managed environment".
Thank you Jean-Marc for the tip. Clustering Virtual ServersThere is a full article in Technet describing how to configure a cluster running Virtual Server 2005.
This is frequently requested by our clients, we used to say: "hey only VMWare features virtual SCSI disks". Not anymore.

MV December 20 Unpromote NT 4 BDCOne of our customers is still running a NT 4.0 BDC in their AD 2003 Domain (thus, mixed functional level).
We want to upgrade their AD Forest to the 2003 Functional Level.
Unfortunately, a very critical application is running on that NT BDC and, no, we cannot migrate the application or upgrade the BDC to W2K(3). As you understand, this application NEEDS NT 4.0 and it's been installed on a BDC.
The solution? Demote the NT BDC to a member server then rejoin the AD Domain.
How? We will probably use the upromote tool. As far as I know, this is the only way to unpromote a BDC.
I will keep you informed of the results... December 19 How to transform a "live" Windows Server into a Virtual PC / VMWareThis is cool: with this easy-to-use tool, one can simply migrate a live server to a virtual one. I know VMWare has its own tools, but they are very expensive. Besides, this works with Virtual PC too...
